Product Lifecycle

Product Lifecycle & Availability Policy

Explosion Proof Camera (ExPC) maintains a defined product lifecycle policy to ensure technical accuracy, documentation validity, and certification traceability across all listed products. Only active and supported product configurations are presented on explosionproofcamera.com unless otherwise explicitly stated.

What is ExPC's product lifecycle policy?

ExPC's product lifecycle policy is the set of rules that governs which products are shown, how their status is classified, and how long their technical documentation remains valid.

The policy exists so that a product listed on the website can be trusted to be current: manufactured, supported, and backed by documentation and certification that still apply. Products that no longer meet that bar are not presented as active offerings.

What do the lifecycle statuses mean?

ExPC classifies every product into one of three lifecycle statuses: Active, Limited Availability, or Discontinued.

StatusMeaning
ActiveProducts currently manufactured, supported, and documented.
Limited AvailabilityProducts available under specific conditions or configurations.
DiscontinuedProducts no longer manufactured or supported.

Is the technical documentation valid?

ExPC technical documentation is valid only for active product configurations at the scope and conditions stated in the documents.

  • Technical specifications apply only to active product configurations.
  • Certification documents reference the documented product scope and conditions.
  • Withdrawn or expired documentation is removed or archived.

How are discontinued products handled?

Discontinued products are removed from active offerings, and any historical documentation kept for them does not imply availability or valid certification.

  • Discontinued products are not listed as active offerings.
  • Historical documentation may be archived for reference purposes only.
  • Archived documentation does not imply availability or certification validity.

How often is lifecycle status updated?

ExPC reviews product lifecycle status whenever a product or manufacturing change occurs, and updates documentation to reflect current production and certification status.

  • Lifecycle status is reviewed following any product or manufacturing change.
  • Documentation updates reflect current production and certification status.
  • Changes are applied without retroactive implication.

Who governs product lifecycle at ExPC?

Product lifecycle status and documentation governance are maintained under the ExPC Technical Authority.

The same governance framework that verifies certifications and specifications also controls how lifecycle status is assigned and updated. See the ExPC Technical Authority for the full scope.
